Birthday Card and Matching Box for a special friend

I made this card and matching box for a very dear friend at work for her birthday. Inside the box was a bracelet I made for her. There is a funny story about her and I. Six years ago she worked at another building than where I worked and she would call me each morning with her breakfast and lunch count for that building. We never met all that year but talked on the phone each morning. The next year I moved to another building so I no longer talked to her each day. Two years ago she was moved to the school  where I work. The first day when they introduced her to me I kept thinking that I knew her from somewhere but couldn't figure out where. All day long that day I kept trying to remember how I knew her and why she was so familiar to me. The next day it came to me why her voice was so familiar...she was the lady I had talked to every morning four years earlier!!! We were once again together and became best of friends. We even knew what the other one was thinking...which could be a bad thing sometimes!!! :-) We have had the best time working together these past two years. But she is retiring now and so I will no longer have her there with me each day to make me laugh and brighten my day. I will miss her so much!!! Love ya Connie-- enjoy your retirement, take care and keep in touch!!

Birthday card for my daughter

This is a birthday card I made for my daughter. This was only the second time I have made an easel card and I really don't know why I don't make them more often because they are really fun and easy. Had just received  my SU order so I had several new goodies to play with along with a new embossing folder that I ordered online. I was amazed at how fast this card came together. Think I will make a couple more to have in my stash.

Thanks for looking!

Cards made by McKenzie

Last weekend my seven year old granddaughter, McKenzie spent some time with me and wanted to make some cards for some special people in her life. She loves using the Cricut and making cards. She picked out the images, the stamps and the papers and had minimal help putting the cards together. She was so excited when I asked her if she would like to use some of my Action Wobbles on her cards and she answered with an emphatic YES!! :) I think she did a great job and she was so proud of her finished cards. She said, "Grandma you could post these on your blog if you want." So that is what I am doing. I think I have a cardmaker in the making to share my obsession!!!

This is a card for her best friend that moved to Canada in December.

This is a birthday card that she made for her Mom. She has an obsession to the SU Red Glimmer paper just like her grandmother!!  I forgot to take a picture of the inside but she cut the words Happy Birthday with the red glimmer paper too. She even stamped a cupcake on her envelope.

P.S. Her mom loved it!! :)

McKenzie thanks you for checking out her cards!

Paper Cutz Challenge #78

For this week's Paper Cutz challenge we are to make a card, LO or craft project using a hand stamped, digital stamped or Cricut cut image of ladybugs, bees or butterflies, using any colors we’d like. So here is my card for the challenge. The bee is popped up on an Action Wobble so he is "buzzin' around" when you move the card.:-)
This is the sentiment on the inside of the card:

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!!!

Paper Cutz Challenge #53

For challenge # 53 over on Paper Cutz, we were to make a card, LO or craft project using a digital, hand stamped or Cricut cut image of a monkey, skunk, squirrel or hedgehog and any colors you'd like. I had seen Mary at Cardz TV make a tri-fold card and I had been wanting to give it a try. So I decided to make one for this challenge and add a little skunk to it. This was a really fun card to make and I will definitely be making more of these tri-fold cards in the future!

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge & Cricut Cardz Challenge #34

For this week's challenge on Emma's blog we were to use the cartridge Celebrations and make a birthday themed card. The challenge on Cricut Cardz was to create a card with a cake, cupcake, cookies or candy and any cartridges, colors or theme you'd like. So I decided to use a cupcake from the Celebrations cartridge and then my card would meet the requirements for both challenges. Whoo Hoo!!!!

I think I kind of got carried way with all the sparkle on this card. I used glitter cardstock for the frosting on my cupcake with pink Stickles added to the top. The same glitter cardstock was used under the embossed background which was sprayed with shimmer mist. Top that off with the silver metallic paper used for the cupcake liner! Lots of sparkle on this one!!

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend and thanks for stopping by my blog!!!

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge #2

I created this card for the Throwback Thursday challenge this week on Emma's blog. We were to use the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and the colors blue, red and brown. Since I don't have that cartridge I used Doodlecharms which is one of the first cartridges I bought after getting my Cricut Expression and then used the required colors. It's hard to tell in the picture but there are Stickles on the swirls of "frosting" on the cupcake. Hope you have a great day and happy stamping!! TFL

Birthday Card for Grandson

It's hard to believe but my little grandson just turned two yesterday.  He had a John Deere themed party so I made this card for him . I found several tractor ideas online and combined several of them to come up with this. Amazing that it is all made with punches!! Needless to say he was thrilled with his "green tractor card" as he called it!

Decided to try out this cute little butterfly-added some stickles to her wings and antennas for a quick and easy birthday card. Hope you had a great National Scrapbook Day and are having a fantastic weekend!!!

Cody's 1st Birthday

It is so hard to believe that our little grandson turned one yesterday. This past year has gone by way too fast! Here is a picture of the card I made for him and a picture of him with his cake.
