So I just had to try out these flowers from a file I got online for my Silhouette Cameo. Fun card to make and very quick and easy!
Pulled out some little roses that I had bought quite some time ago and added them to the bottom of the frame. Quick and easy card but turned out very elegant.
It has been great to pull out all of these lost treasures and actually USE the supplies. We are having the best time and building up our card stashes in the process! This week we created cards from a sketch we found online and we had a blast. It is so fun to see how different everyone's cards look even using the same sketch. Here are the cards I made for this week. We only have to make one but I had so much fun creating after I got started, I could have kept going all day long making cards.
Seems as though life sometimes gets so busy that we can't get it all done. I have however been doing lots of crafting but just didn't have the time to post anything. So my New Year's resolution was to start posting to my blog again....I know it is almost the end of September and I am just now getting to that resolution but at least I am doing it, right? :) So my plan is to start posting some projects I have already made as well as future projects. While blog hopping the other day I came upon this site called Lawnscaping and saw they had a fun challenge for the week. The challenge was to make a Clean and Simple card...right up my alley so I couldn't wait to make a card. In fact, while I was at it I made several cards using different colors and sentiments but still used the same basic layout. So not only did I make a card for the challenge, I also have some extra cards for my stash. Gotta love that!!! Unfortunately I don't own any Lawn Fawn stamps yet so had to use a retired SU set.
Well it just so happens my grandson will be turning 3 on Monday and I needed to make him a birthday card. He loves watching monster trucks so I decided to make this card for him and enter it in the challenge for this week. I used a holographic wrapping paper for the window and chrome parts so it is very shiny.
If you read the posts below I mentioned that several of my close friends from work are leaving, either due to a new job or retiring. Well I have one more to add to the list. Our Kindergarten teacher who is one of my very closest friends will be moving away. She is the most positive person I know and always has a smile on her face. She is a wonderful teacher (hence why she was just chosen as Master Teacher of the Year). I just can't even imagine what it will be like next year without her. Her room is close to the office and when she has a little one in trouble or needs some assistance she always intercoms the office and announces that "she could use a friend". Through the tears the past week we have joked about her calling me from several hours away when she gets moved to tell me "she could use a friend". Over the past few years I have been trying to convince her to come and make cards and scrapbook with our group and she finally decided she was ready. Her youngest son moved away to college and her husband travels alot for work like my husband so we were going to start crafting together. And then what happens-- their house sells and now she will be moving away. :-( She will be missed so much--not only as an awesome Kindergarten teacher but as a fantastic friend!!
So here is the card I made for her to go with a picture frame I gave her that says- "The best things in life...... are not things." Love that saying!
Unfortunately it is in another school in a nearby town so I wanted to make her some little teacher goodies to have as she starts her new teaching career. She is a sweet young lady and since her family all lives several hours away, I have kind of been her "Mom on call". I will really miss her and wish her the best!!
The bride was actually the daughter of our school nurse. She was a beautiful bride and the wedding was so pretty. This card was inspired by several cards I found online and I just took parts from the different cards and created my own. The paper behind the hearts is a shimmering sliver paper but doesn't show the shimmer in the picture. A really fun card to make!
Our Kindergarten teacher was chosen as the Master Teacher of the Year and she is so deserving of this award. She is so awesome!! We were lucky enough to have her be our granddaughter's Kindergarten teacher last year.
Inside the box was a bracelet I made for her. There is a funny story about her and I. Six years ago she worked at another building than where I worked and she would call me each morning with her breakfast and lunch count for that building. We never met all that year but talked on the phone each morning. The next year I moved to another building so I no longer talked to her each day. Two years ago she was moved to the school where I work. The first day when they introduced her to me I kept thinking that I knew her from somewhere but couldn't figure out where. All day long that day I kept trying to remember how I knew her and why she was so familiar to me. The next day it came to me why her voice was so familiar...she was the lady I had talked to every morning four years earlier!!! We were once again together and became best of friends. We even knew what the other one was thinking...which could be a bad thing sometimes!!! :-) We have had the best time working together these past two years. But she is retiring now and so I will no longer have her there with me each day to make me laugh and brighten my day. I will miss her so much!!! Love ya Connie-- enjoy your retirement, take care and keep in touch!!
Shows how busy the past few weeks have been!!! The school year finished up last week so hopefully now things will slow down and I will have more time to create!
Here is one of the thank you cards I made for all the great gifts I received for Secretary's Day. They were too good to me. I received all kinds of goodies...gift cards to Hobby Lobby and Sonic as well as a manicure gift certificate, picture frames, flowers, cards and some really cool notebooks. And I even got to go out to lunch which might not be a big deal for some people but for me that is huge because every other day during the school year I eat at my desk while I am working. So that is a big treat to be able to get away from the phone, sick kiddos, visitors to the school and all the other things that occur during my day. It was a great day!!! I made these cards using a package of premade cards I picked up on the dollar spot at Target. Just added a strip of cardstock with the edges punched with a border punch, a scalloped circle with a thank you sentiment and a punched flower in the center and they were done. Love having these premade cards on hand because they come in so handy when you need a card really quick and you can customize them for the occasion.
This was only the second time I have made an easel card and I really don't know why I don't make them more often because they are really fun and easy. Had just received my SU order so I had several new goodies to play with along with a new embossing folder that I ordered online. I was amazed at how fast this card came together. Think I will make a couple more to have in my stash.
She loves using the Cricut and making cards. She picked out the images, the stamps and the papers and had minimal help putting the cards together. She was so excited when I asked her if she would like to use some of my Action Wobbles on her cards and she answered with an emphatic YES!! :) I think she did a great job and she was so proud of her finished cards. She said, "Grandma you could post these on your blog if you want." So that is what I am doing. I think I have a cardmaker in the making to share my obsession!!!

This is a card for her best friend that moved to Canada in December.

This is a birthday card that she made for her Mom. She has an obsession to the SU Red Glimmer paper just like her grandmother!! I forgot to take a picture of the inside but she cut the words Happy Birthday with the red glimmer paper too. She even stamped a cupcake on her envelope.

I ended up making four so I could have a couple of extras on hand and unfortunately have ended up having to send all four out this week. So guess I will try to make some more this weekend for my stash. I really like the softness of using the Versamark and chalk on the flower images. I saw a card similar to this online quite a while ago and thought it would make a very pretty sympathy card.
We were to make a spring card using only the colors white, pink and green and any cartridge. This happens to be one of my favorite color combos so I was excited to jump right in on the challenge and gave me an excuse to use my new Mother's Day bouquet cartridge. I decided to mail the card to my 97 year old grandmother to add a little "spring" to her day. :)
But even though it is much too quiet around here, I am very happy for him. So this is a card I mailed to him and luckily it was the first piece of mail he received at his "new pad". Said it made his day!! :)
